Should Art be part of our environment?
When we travel, whether it's for business or pleasure, how do thought-provoking artworks, beautiful sculptures and interactive pieces transform areas such as the hotel lobby, spa or suite? How is visitor experience enhanced when Art becomes part of the design language of the property?
MIAJA design group's ethos is to create innovative and unique interior design projects.
Part of this mission has organically grown from founder Isabelle Miaja's love of Art.
Carefully curating and co-creating art has become part of her signature and ongoing vision, tapping into cultural backgrounds and unique artistic translations.
From a "Pop-art meets industrial raw" concept to a fusion between France and Singapore with virtual tour...these are two hotels projects where Design met Art and made a perfect match.
PULLMAN CENTRAL PARK, Jakarta.
Scope of work: Interior design & Art Consultancy
The Pullman Central Park is an award-winning project, having received a commendable accolade at the 2014 Asia Pacific Property Awards for its unique design direction of an "industrial raw" and pop-art concept.
SO SOFITEL, Singapore
Scope of work: Interior Design & Art Consultancy
SO Sofitel Singapore is a luxury boutique hotel ideally located in the city-state’s central business district, fusing old-world charm with the latest media technology.
The hotel has a distinct atmosphere of discreet sophistication. The clean lines and smooth wall panelling provide tranquility, as well as evoking a sense of the past, the European style that had an influence on Singapore's original architecture.
Cultural design links between the building's exterior and interior revived this conservation building and transformed it into a 5 star boutique hotel. Art and function give guests a sense of immersion in a crossover of culture between France and Singapore.
The light that plays on the mirrors and marble, and the distinctive symbolism of the hexagon shape punctuated with modern takes on antiquated furniture, tells a story through literary references and gives Sofitel a prominent place in Singapore's rich cultural heritage.
In 2017, cloud-based AVR Platform powered a new innovative AR application developed by EON Reality Singapore and tells design story of SO Sofitel Singapore using Epson’s Moverio BT-300 smart glasses, including a virtual tour by Isabelle Miaja:
