Isabelle Miaja wanders through New Delhi, India

February 23-24, 2010: After a quick trip from Mumbai, Isabelle Miaja, Director of Miaja Design Group, together with senior designer Gerry Roda went around New Delhi, India with desires to experience its ageless art, borderless culture, and timeless values.

Starting with a trip to the Indian Museum, a bit of walking through New Delhi streets, and photo opts with the locals, this adventure is so rich in history and awe for Indian art & craftsmanship.

The highlight of their trip is visiting the Swaminarayan Akshardham which means the eternal abode of Bhagwan Swaminarayan who is the torch bearer of Indian culture & spirituality. This former barren patch of land near the banks of the river Yamuna in New Delhi was transformed to a grand 100-acre cultural showcase in just a matter of five years. It showcases India’s glorious traditions of art, architecture, wisdom & spirituality.

A saga of more than 300,000 stones, each shaped and carved in a brilliant and intricate array of sculptures and designs, make the ceilings and domes of the  Swaminarayan Akshardham a spectacle of India’s ancient art & sculpture that is unrivaled in the world.

All these knowledge, cultural experience, and visual feast made this trip an unforgettable one.
