Interior Design Concept
The overall interior design concept is a modern international style business hotel.
Given the unique site located on Juhu Beach, the design approach by Miaja Design Group is for a hip, modern interior with a light and airy feel to create a chic, urban resort feel in the hotel. The use of light cream tones, light wood finishes and sleek European style furniture are the general palette of materials used to achieve this. The architectural approach to the renovation was to define the interior spaces to make the visual experience throughout the hotel exciting and giving strong individual character to each space.
Lobby/Reception
By relocating the location of the main reception desk, this allowed for a more defined lounge area with natural daylight. The sleek curved lines of the furniture are sculptural elements accentuated by contemporary art for color and texture.
The curved element is also repeated behind the reception desk as a feature wall.
Light colour tones and finishes are used to create an overall ambiance of a modern natural interior.
The Square
The revamped look of the all day dining restaurant is a modern, global dining experience. The restaurant has two distinct zones, an indoor al fresco area, and a casual dining area. The use of glass, stainless steel and dark wood finishes create a sophisticated, yet casual ambiance. The urban resort feel is achieved with the use of natural quartz stones on the walls for texture, wood planks for flooring, and a combination of earthy and cool tones for fabrics.
Gadda da Vida
The “modern glam” style for the bar makes it a trendy venue for the seaside hotel. Interior details include padded walls, modern European designer furnishings and light fixtures, and bold, sexy fabrics creating a dramatic ambiance. The bar opens out as well to the sprawling outdoor terrace and pool deck overlooking Juhu Beach.
Sampan
The existing Chinese restaurant has been revamped with the same modern approach as the rest of the hotel. Still keeping the Chinese theme, the new design is a bolder statement by using richer finishes and fabrics in jewel tones. The resulting overall ambiance is a sophisticated, Asian fine dining experience.
Olio
The speciality restaurant concept for the hotel is a modern Mediterranean and Italian dining experience which features a wine bar and outdoor al fresco dining with seaside view. The design centers around a bold elliptical ceiling element over the main dining space as a focal point in the predominantly white space. Hardwood floors create warmth in the restaurant, and the sleek European designer furniture gives it a posh feel.
Banquet/ Meeting Rooms
The overall design theme for these areas is contemporary styling with organic accents. For the feature wall in the main banquet room, sliced tree trunk pieces were used to introduce organic form. The coloured glass pendant lights as well are made of freeform hand blown glass shapes. An oversized wall feature rug at the grand staircase gives softness and contrast against hard finishes at pre-function hall. Earth tones used in the overall colour scheme and dark wood finishes create a warm and sophisticated feel.
Guestrooms/Suites
The theme of the complete makeover of the guestrooms and suites is a modern, international lifestyle catering to business and leisure travelers, designed with comfort in mind whether for work or relaxation. The light wood finishes and muted fabric tones create a relaxing ambiance complimenting the seaside views captured from the large picture windows. The transparency added between the bathroom and the bedroom brings natural light into the large shower cubicles.
