Per Aquum Desert Palm, a 20-minute drive into the desert from central Dubai, will feature four working polo fields. The owner is Ali Albwardy, the leading patron of the sport in the region. His playing history includes the Argentine, the U.K. and U.S. Opens.
The resort, designed by Isabelle Miaja, has 24 rooms, villas and residences including the 6,700-square-foot Villa Layali, which has a private lap pool.
General managers David and Jacqueline O’Hara have moved here from Dhoni Mighili in the Maldives. Rare, a restaurant that specializes in game from around the world, and an Aquum spa are also planned for the November opening.
